Karen Ralph, Managing Director of Geraldton Accommodation Service, is a chef by trade, and has worked in the hospitality industry since her mid teens. Growing up Karen had a lot of exposure to the tourism industry, as her family lived in an apartment complex of 14, which her parents managed as holiday and corporate accommodation. Karen worked in the family business liaising with clients, taking bookings and servicing the apartments.
The idea of Geraldton Accommodation Service was planted when a friend of Karen’s was leaving town and needed someone to manage her property for holiday accommodation. Once Karen started with this property, word quickly spread around town and Karen started receiving phone calls from others with the same request. The interest in Karen’s service proved this was a niche area, and the need was being clearly identified for this kind of service in Geraldton.
The holiday house option allows people to have space and privacy for business trips and is also perfect for families seeking a more comfortable holiday experience and enjoying a home away from home. The flexibility allows the guest to prepare meals, have BBQ’s and gives plenty of room to park the boat!
Karen’s goal for the future is to build her portfolio, and offer and wide range of properties. Karen would also like to offer a service to corporate clients, by taking the hassle out of finding accommodation for their clients or employees and organizing it on their behalf, depending on their needs - from fully self contained homes to workmen’s quarters.
